Grosso Goes Bust

In this post, we noted that while the 9th Circuit's decision in Grosso would likely lead to more implied contract claims brought by screenwriters against movie studios, the success rate of those claims was still in doubt. And as of now, the screenwriters are batting zero. Grosso himself lost in state court, and barring some appellate heroics, Miramax is off the hook for using his script to develop Rounders.
